Healthy Food Las Angeles Airport Restaurants (LAX)

Los Angeles Airport may rate high on your frustration list for other reasons, but lack of healthy food shouldn’t be one of them. I’m going to continue to update this list, but I want to share several healthy options. As always, I’m interested to hear any suggestions from my fellow healthy travelers – just hit up the comment box below. Check out more healthy tips at LAX here!

Terminal 4

Real Food Daily (Terminal 4)

“Real Food Daily is Southern California’s premier organic plant-based restaurant serving a quality, authentic, creative, and nutritionally balanced menu.”  This is also my recommendation for gluten free, soy free and nut free travelers since they list options out on their menu. Be aware meat lovers – this is all vegan.

Lemonade (Terminal 5)

Lemonade is one of the coolest and healthiest concepts I’ve seen in a very long time. If you live anywhere on the West Coast and haven’t heard of Lemonade, you’re going to soon. Their website describes “LEMONADE IS A MODERN MARKETPLACE SERVING A COLORFUL BOUNTY OF SEASONAL CALIFORNIA COMFORT FOOD IN A BRIGHT CAFETERIA SETTING,” which I think describes this place perfectly. If I had one place to suggest to travelers coming through LAX, this would be it, not to mention it’s mostly healthy foods.

Loteria Grill (Terminal 5 and Terminal 7)

LA has excellent authentic Mexican food and there airport should be no different. Loteria Grill was founded in a farmers market and has expanded to multiple locations around the city, including this airport outpost. Many of the items have a great balance of vegetables and protein which should keep you full on even the longest of flights.

Farmers Market (Terminal 5)

The space is set up to resemble a market place with several food stations inside (including the above mentioned Loteria Grill). This place is also a great spot to go if you are looking for single pieces of fruit (apple, banana, orange) or a small gift. “Dining and shopping options include award-winning ¡Loteria! Grill, Monsieur Marcel Gourmet Market and Bistro, T&Y Bakery, Coffee Corner, Magee’s Nuts, Bennett’s Ice Cream, Magic Nut and Candy, Dragunara Spice Bazaar and The Dog Bakery.”

Terminal 6

Earthbar (Terminal 6, near A20)

Earthbar is the go-to spot in Terminal 6. Yes, this is the same Earthbar that locates itself in and around many Equinox gyms across the country, serving fresh salads, smoothies, juice and snacks, and their airport location is no different. I highly suggest checking them out for their high quality and healthy ingredients on your next layover at LAX.

Terminal 7

Loteria Grill (Terminal 5 and Terminal 7)

LA has excellent authentic Mexican food and there airport should be no different. Loteria Grill was founded in a farmers market and has expanded to multiple locations around the city, including this airport outpost. Many of the items have a great balance of vegetables and protein which should keep you full on even the longest of flights.

Other Great Options:

Pinkberry, Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Yogurtland which are found throughout the airport, almost in every terminal.
